MEET THE CLERGY!
We enthusiastically welcome all those who approach our Altars with reverence and sincerity- especially those who seek baptism, marriage, or any of the Sacraments of the Church. God loves you.....and, so do we!
The Most Rev. James P. Roberts, Jr., D.D., the Presiding Bishop's Vicar General, was consecrated on October 23, 1966. In September 1972, he became Rector of the Cathedral Church of St. Thomas The Apostle.
Bishop Roberts is the husband of Dorett Roberts and the father of adult sons, Dwayne and Jason.
He is a retired superintendent who served forty-three years in the public schools of the City of New York. His community service includes Chair, The Bishop James P. Roberts, Sr. Learning Center, and Executive Board membership of The New Rochelle Youth Court.
Bishop Terrence Wilburg was born in Georgetown, Guyana, South America. As a youth, he was an Altar Server in the Roman Cathlolic Church. Later, he served as the Lector of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Nassau, Bahamas. While at Mary Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church in Freeport, Bahamas he served as both Lector and President of the "Men of Mary Star".
His professional career includes Land Surveyor (in both Guyana and the Bahamas), Asst. Landscape Architect and Resident Engineer (for the NYC Department of Parks and Recreation), and over twenty years in the financial industry and the real estate industries.
Bishop Wilburg has been a member of St. Thomas Liberal Catholic Church for over eighteen years. He was admitted to the minor and major orders of the Liberal Catholic Church International and ordained to the priesthood in May 2002. He was appointed as Vicar General for the Diocese of New Yok LCCI by his grace The Most Reverend James P. Roberts, Jr., Regionary Bishop of the United States of America LCCI.
Bishop Wilburg is married and the father of two sons. Bishop Wilburg's major objectives are to contribute to the continued growth of the LCCI and to enhance the future outgrowth, development and outreach of St. Thomas the Apostle Liberal Catholic Church.
The Rev. Donald Yearwood
The Rev. Fr. Donald Yearwood was baptized at St. Thomas Liberal Catholic Church on February 16, 1932 - a date that gives him membership seniority over most of our congregants. His faithful and continous service began with membership in our Sunday School and membership in our Acolyte Guild (1942 - 1950).
His service at the church was interrupted by a call to military service in the U.S. Navy (1950 - 1954). After being honorably discharged as a Korean war veteran, he returned to St. Thomas to resume service as an Acolyte. Eventually, he was admitted to the Diaconate (in 1958) and ordained to the Priesthood (in 1973).
Fr. Yearwood's primary focus has been his ministry to our youth. As Scoutmaster, he led our Boy Scout Troop #180 (1956 - 1965) and developed a number of competitive athletic programs for pre-teen and teen-aged youngsters (e.g., football, baseball, basketball, boxing and track). All of these activities augmented his employment with the U.S. Army as a Youth Specialist (1982 - 1994).
The most senior LCCI Priest...athletic coach...military & church historian...:
Fr. Donald Yearwood has been our Rock Of Ages!
The Rev. Dale Davidson

The Rev. Viola Brown
The Rev. Viola Brown, a native New Yorker, was educated in the public schools of the city of New York. She grew up in the Lutheran Church of the Transfiguration. In 1980, she began attending the Church of St. Thomas, where her maternal grandmother worshiped for many years.
Unknowingly, her preparation for ministry included enrollment in the N.Y. School of the Bible and classes at Mariners' Temple Baptist Church. She was formally installed as Lector in 1991. She is the second female to have been admitted to Minor Orders; and, today, she is the first to be ordained to Major Orders.
Rev. Brown enjoys traveling, sewing (especially making her own clothes) and reading (enhanced by her membership in the NCNW Book Club). She is a widow with two daughters, two grandsons and three great grandchild. She is a retired data-entry operator, who spends a significant percentage of her time in ministry to our sick and shut-in members — those who are at home, as well as those who are confined to hospitals and nursing facilities.
